MEMBERSHIP

The Alumni shall consist of Life Members, Ordinary Members, Honorary Members, Associate Members and Patrons. Former students currently attending primary schools, secondary schools, centralised institutes or junior colleges cannot be admitted as members. These former students, however, are most welcome to take part in activities organized by SMESA.

Please note that since year 2022, MOE has merged Phase 2A(1) and Phase 2A(2) thus a former student of St. Margaret’s Primary School who is a member of SMESA will have the same priority as all former students of St. Margaret’s Primary School.

LIFE-TIME

$100

one time fee

Life Membership shall be open to former students of the School provided always that persons currently attending primary, secondary schools, centralized institutes or junior colleges shall not be admitted as members.

Life Members shall pay a one-time subscription fee of $100.00 or such other sum as may be determined by the Board of Management..

YOUTH WING

Free

Youth Members shall be open to students of the School who are:
   

(1) alumnae less than 21 years old; and 
        (2) graduating from the School

Youth members upon reaching 21 years of age may convert their membership to Life Membership and by paying the relevant membership subscription

 

Youth currently attending primary, secondary schools, centralized institutes or junior colleges shall not be admitted as members.

PATRONS

Appointed

Patrons may comprise members of the School Management Committee or any other distinguished persons as the Board of Management shall decide.

They shall not have any voting rights and shall not be eligible to hold office, or have any say in the management of the Alumni.

HONORARY

Appointed

Honorary Membership shall be confined to current and past principals and members of the teaching staff of the School or any other distinguished persons whose expertise is required by the Alumni.

They shall not have any voting rights and shall not be eligible to hold office, or have any say in the management of the Alumni.

Admission to the Honorary membership shall be by invitation by the Board of Management.

ASSOCIATE

Appointed

Associate Membership may be extended to parents of current and past students of the School who have rendered services to the School or the Alumni.

They shall not have any voting rights and shall not be eligible to hold office or have any say in the management of the Alumni.

Admission to the Associate membership shall be by invitation by the Board of Management.
